At its heart is the Van Excellence Code which is a Code of Practice outlining ‘what good looks like’ in van operations.

Future topics for Van Driver Training
This is a basic level induction based on what our members think are the safety critical competencies for van drivers. But look out, we will soon be adding more advanced modules to the training, covering:
- Pre-use defect checking.
- Efficient and environmentally friendly driving.
- Rules of the road.
- The driver as brand ambassador.
- Health and Safety – such as manual handling.
- Fitness to drive – alcohol and drugs.
- Vulnerable road users.
- Breakdown and incident response.
We’ll be asking users of the service about their priorities for developing the training, so watch this space.
